About Paul Lancaster

I’m a freelance English proofreader, editor and copywriter. I can assist you with your creative, business and academic writing. I specialise in enhancing the English of those who use it as a second language.

You decide on the extent of the service I provide for you. If it’s just basic proofreading that you require I will ensure a correct use of grammar, spelling, punctuation and consistency in formatting. If you want your material further enhanced, re-structured, jazzed-up, made formal or informal, etc, then I will edit it by making more substantial amendments, re-drafting so as to raise the quality of readability, flow, syntax, delivery of message and the choice of vocabulary and grammar. If you need additional material added to what you’ve already written, or brand new documents created from scratch, my copywriting and research services will come into play. I am also able to convert and prepare documents for E-publication.

For 15 years I have been improving documents written by both native and non-native speakers of English. I have extensive experience in amending text written by people who have English as a second language, having assisted people from many different countries and cultures including Japan, Thailand, China, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, India and Iran. As such, I am very familiar with the typical difficulties that different nationalities often have when communicating in English.

I’m happy to take on work in any subject matter and for any purpose such as academic, research, business, creative writing or personal use. However, through my previous employment, studies and previous clients I have gained a particular understanding of topics in the fields of economics, social policy, international development / the developing world, environmental issues, town planning, infrastructure, urbanization, regeneration and urban design.
