I'm a qualified proofreader who has undergone extensive training and has worked on a variety of subjects over the past few years. I've successfully completed several courses organised by both the Publishing Training Centre and the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (both organisations are widely recognised as excellent quality training providers in the publishing industry).
I have experience of working on academic historical and medical texts through the SfEP mentoring scheme and received very positive feedback from my mentor who is an experienced proofreader for Oxford University Press.
I have a background in modern languages having achieved a degree in French and Russian (with Political and Economic Studies).
I have used proofreading marks in various formats: paper, PDF files and Word so am able to use whatever suits you best and am happy to quote for work on small or large projects.
Please feel free to drop me an email with your requirements and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
I am extremely pleased with the proofreading Dianne did on my memoir, Trying to Understand Brazilian Culture. She did a VERY thorough job, and it was also completed ahead of schedule. She even corrected the spelling of place names in Brazil I'd made mistakes with, and a pop star's name I'd written incorrectly (The name Will.i.am doesn't have capital letters after each full stop? Who knew! Well, luckily for me….Dianne made it her business to know).
I'd not used the services of a proofreader before, but now I wouldn't think twice about using Dianne for any future projects.
Dianne proofed hibu's 27 community magazines of which I was National Copy Editing Manager. Dianne's attention to detail was unbelievable – unlike anything I have encountered before in more than 20 years working in newspapers and magazines – and her ability to spot errors of spelling, punctuation, style and grammar first rate.
I cannot recommend Dianne highly enough … I ever get around to writing my memoirs she will be the first person I contact to give them the once over.
