Hello! I'm a trained Proofreader and chartered librarian with an English degree. I have an excellent eye for detail and a passion for making writing the best it can be. I am an Associate Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and have completed two of their proofreading courses so far.
So, what am I like to work with? The most common phrases that pop up in my feedback are "eagle-eyed", "helpful", "sympathetic", "tactful", and "flexible". I appreciate that the two major factors when choosing a proofreader are quality of work and the cost of the service. I charge per 1,000 words so that you know exactly where you are with cost before you even say yes, and I will strive to provide the highest level of service including communication, specialist advice, notes on any decisions made during the process and a timely return of your work.
So far, I have had the pleasure of working on:
Academic essays (specialisms in English, Humanities and Social Sciences)
Fiction of all kinds (specialism in books for young people and children)
Non-fiction, including textbooks and teaching guides
Writing on the topic of libraries
Media and technology articles
Mental health reports
Film and music articles
