Listed in Proofreaders / Editors
I am a freelance editor, proofreader and indexer with an eye for a mystery. When not editing a range of projects I can be found with my Sherlock hat on as a professional genealogist.
I am a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, and adhere to their code of conduct.
Specialising in historical fiction and non-fiction, I also work in more diverse areas such as art and art history, maritime, theatre, film and tv (including script editing), paranormal studies and mind body spirit specialising in the Tarot. With a background as an academic librarian I’m comfortable with information, and as a genealogist I’m a bit of a sleuth, so it’s not hard to see why history is my specialism.
Services for Authors and Publishers
Developmental editing, line and copy-editing, proofreading, critiquing and indexing.
Authors – I will work closely with you so that I know what you need and you are comfortable with the process. I work with hard copy, pdfs and Word documents, tracking changes to allow you to see where improvements can be made.
Publishers – I am experienced with on-screen markup as well as BSI proofreading symbols. With an academic background I am comfortable working as part of a larger team, and understand the flexibility that is often needed within the publishing industry.
