Based in South Wales, UK, and qualified with The Publishing Training Centre, I specialise in supporting independent authors of fiction and creative non-fiction. Traditional or self-publishing. Literary and commercial. I offer a choice of editorial services, each tailored to meet the needs of manuscripts at different stages of the writing process; these services are proofreading, copy-editing and manuscript reviews. In addition, I also provide additional support in the form of e-book formatting or help with query letters and synopses.
I value trust and transparency in the author-editor partnership, and work with you to help your manuscript reach its full potential. Whether you are seeking to publish traditionally, or self-publishing, I will ensure your manuscript is polished to a well-presented, professional standard.
Please email a 1,500 word (max.) sample of your manuscript for a free no-obligation trial proofread/edit; include the total word count to receive prices and details of availability. Alternatively, visit the website for more details.

For material that is edited and almost good to go. A proofread is the final check of your fully edited novel from start to finish prior to publication. It weeds out any remaining errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, layout and style, and checks for consistency throughout. This final stage of the writing process ensures your book is well-presented and professional. I can also format your manuscript in preparation for a smooth transition to e-book publication.
For work that has been self-edited but requires some further attention. In addition to checking spelling, punctuation and grammar, layout and style, a copy-edit will examine the narrative for continuity, clarity and flow. Inconsistencies and areas of concern or confusion are flagged, re-worded or re-structured accordingly.
- Manuscript Review
For manuscripts at any stage of the writing process. A review provides detailed feedback on all areas of your narrative, from point of view to characterisation and dramatic arc. Presented in a helpful and supportive manner, the review will highlight your narrative's strengths and weaknesses, and comment upon potential areas and ideas for improvement.
My approach is friendly, efficient and reliable, but also dedicated and meticulous with an emphasis on support. Whichever service you opt for, my role is to help you improve your manuscript by providing a guiding hand for new authors or assistance for the more experienced.
I will work with your documents either on paper or electronically in your preferred format, using a mark-up technique suitable to your requirements and in abidance with your style preferences and English usage standards.
I am a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) and abide by their Code of Practice.
Tina is very professional; she has a sharp eye for detail and goes the extra mile (she even checked the spelling of street names in South Africa!). I learned about the rules of grammar, punctuation, etc, through her detailed notes. I would definitely want her on my team again in any future projects.

Tina provided a friendly, first-class service, which was relaxed, highly informative and resulted in a finished manuscript I am delighted with. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who has a book to edit and doesn’t know who to turn to next. Everything was explained up front and I was then kept informed at all stages throughout the process with every opportunity to query and clarify anything I felt unsure about. I came away with more than a finished manuscript, as Tina provided insights into – not only the process of editing – but also into my own writing and what I was producing. Tina’s grasp of the technical craft and creative process was a joy to behold as she took time to explain what I was doing right, what I did wrong and where I needed to up my game to make the finished manuscript the best it can be. I have come away with an increased level of confidence and a clearer picture of what I write and what to look out for on those days when the words do not flow so easily. It has been a privilege to work with Tina and her enthusiasm for the written word will continue to energize me and remind me why we write in the first place. I have become a better writer because of the time she took to explain why edits were being made and the advice she gave on how I can improve. I cannot recommend her highly enough and look forward to working with her again in future.

Tina is the best thing I've ever got from Twitter! Her services were invaluable to me. She not only made my manuscript clean and concise, but she helped me produce a fantastic query letter. I have no doubts that I will be getting published in the future and, if it's because of anything or anyone, it's because of Tina. Recommended 10/10.
Meaghan Curley, author of Lack of Purpose Makes a Girl Nervous
I thoroughly recommend Tina as a proof-editor / proofreader. From the initial point of contact right through to completion, she communicated clearly, worked efficiently and offered honest and valuable feedback. I'm immensely grateful to her for perfecting my manuscript. I initially selected her as she communicated warmth and friendliness, passion, diligence and her price made me smile.
Russell Thoburn, author of Dip in the Wick
Tina Williams is both friendly and professional. When working on my manuscript her attention to detail was second to none and she was respectful of my "voice". The end result is a narrative that is still very much mine but feels polished and clean. I will certainly come to her in the future with more of my work.
