I am an SfEP (Society for Editors and Proofreaders) trained proofreader and copy-editor and am bound by the society’s code of practice. I have an MA in History from Edinburgh University. I also studied Arabic for one year. My experience to date includes proofreading and copy-editing magazine articles written by both native and non-native English speakers and editing work for humanities students whose first language is not English.
I work in Word using Track Changes, on a Google document or on paper using BSI symbols. I know how important it is to hand work in on time so I always meet my deadlines. I am also used to ensuring that a piece conforms to a particular style sheet.
If you’re working to a tight deadline on an assignment and becoming mind-numbingly familiar with its content, it is almost impossible to edit your work effectively. This is where a trained, professional pair of eyes can make all the difference. I will edit your work to ensure it is accurately written, clear and flows well.
Catherine just edited an academic article for me and I am very happy with the result. She delivered as promised, within the time path she set out. Her work is precise and accurate. She even pointed out inconsistencies in my text and was happy to give me helpful advice on textual questions I struggled with.
