Proofreading Solutions to a Professional Standard for All Communicators of the Written Word.
Working on a freelance basis I offer proofreading services to publishers, independent authors, students and academics, businesses, and charities. I am also happy to provide a service for any other organisations whose written communications could benefit from a trained eye and a close attention to detail.
As a qualified proofreader (Publishing Training Centre) and a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, I aim to provide clients with an efficient, professional and friendly service. I am able to work on paper, using the proof-correction marks approved by the British Standards Institution, as well as on-screen using the tracking facilities available. My aim is to enable my clients to promote themselves, to their target markets and audiences, to best effect.
I am also a history and politics graduate, whose first career was as a Taxation professional (over 31 years’ experience). My continued life-long reading of history and politics, together with a life-long interest in sport (particularly football and cricket), literature, music and Italy – I studied Italian to GCSE level as an adult learner – has enabled me, in conjunction with my time-served professional taxation experience and qualifications ( I was a member of both the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), to maintain a broad knowledge base. This breadth underpins my proofreading abilities across a wide range of subjects and real-world issues.
To this, as in my previous taxation work (please see the Testimonials section of my website (www.itoiproofreading.co.uk), I bring a client-based focus which promotes customer satisfaction and leads to continued support to help individuals and organisations to achieve their aims.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss matters further.
