Affordable proofreading solutions from a native English speaker with German language skills for postgraduate students and publishers
Have you written an essay, dissertation or thesis?
Want to get that personal statement just right?
Need a bit of help with spelling and grammar?
English not your first language?
So, you’ve put in the research and all the hard work; you’ve perfected your content and your argument; you’ve run the spellchecker and now you’re satisfied it’s ready to go.
But wait. Did the spellchecker pick up ‘form’ when you meant ‘from’? Or, ‘affect’ when you meant ‘effect’? Spellcheckers won’t alert you to the odd instances of ‘organize’ when throughout the rest of your work you’ve used ‘organise’.
Don’t worry, help is at hand. I will give your writing a final check and polish by correcting standard spellings, punctuation and grammar and checking consistency in styles and layout. You can find the full scope of my proofreading service outlined in Proofreading for academic students: what’s included?
But why choose me?
I passed The Publishing Training Centre’s (PTC) in-depth proofreading course with a merit. The PTC is an industry-recognised institution and I can assure you my skills have been rigorously assessed. Other training includes:
Proofreading Digital Skills: The Publishing Training Centre
Grammar at Work: The Publishing Training Centre
Proofreading 2 Progress: The Society for Editors and Proofreaders
My professional membership
I’m a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). I follow the SfEP’s Code of practice which is a guide to ensuring high editorial standards.
My knowledge and experience
I’ve worked in schools for the last ten years teaching students how to improve their English language skills. Prior to that, I worked for numerous multinational companies including a German chemical manufacturer where I regularly proofread and edited German into English translations. Having translated German into English myself, I do understand the challenges students face when writing in a non-native language.
My customer service and affordable fees
I’m easy to work with. I have a friendly approachable manner and I aim to provide the best customer service to you as possible. I understand how much work and time you’ve put into your project, and I’d love to work with you to provide the polished finish it deserves.
My fees range from £6 to £11 per 1000 words depending on the amount of intervention required and if the project contains material such as tables, illustrations, list of abbreviations and appendices etc.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at no-obligation at email@example.com, or you can visit my FAQ page on my website for more information on how we can work together.
