I’m an experienced and qualified (through SfEP and Publishing Training Centre) proofreader and copy-editor with an eagle-eye for detail and a deep understanding and love of language.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in Linguistics and many years’ experience running my own successful business.
I am able to quickly understand new topics and have proofread and copy-edited websites, novels, promotional material and academic papers on topics as diverse as excising tumours, teenagers in a parallel universe, quilting, the Scouts and textile printing in India.
I work either on paper using British Standards Institution (BSI) mark-up symbols or electronically using Track Changes in Microsoft Word or PDF XChange Editor.
Checking spelling, grammar and punctuation is only one part of my job as a proofreader. I also ensure the text flows logically and is consistent in usage and presentation, and I enhance the quality of the writing in terms of clarity, readability and suitability to the target audience.
Satisfied clients are the best part of my job.
Here is what my clients say:
You are a genius. Your editing has made the world of difference to the flow and readability. Thank you so much.
