As a qualified and experienced Copy-editor, Social Media Manager and Virtual Assistant, I have a love for words. I have always regarded the written word as one of the most powerful forms of communication.

Trained by The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, The Publishing Training Centre and The College of Media and Publishing, I work with various writers, businesses and organisations. I help improve and enhance their words or write for them, while respecting the essence of their style, voice, ethos and mission.

In my capacity as a Virtual Assistant, I also help businesses gain back time by undertaking business support duties. This allows business owners to free up time to grow their businesses with the help of my specialist skills and expertise.

If writing is not your forte, I will write for you, providing you with content for your social media accounts, publication, website, promotional materials, blog and more.

What you will receive from me – as well as my support, friendly ear and guidance – is efficiency, collaboration, consistency and a high-quality outcome.

To read more about my experience, read below. I look forward to collaborating with you!

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Kingston University in Ethnomusicology, I completed a Master’s degree in Cultural Theory, Politics and Ethnomusicology at Roehampton University.

I am a founding member of an academic research group established by Gothenburg and Birzeit Universities, and have published my research in a book entitled Palestinian Music and Song: Expression and Resistance Since 1900, as well as on JSTOR.

I have spoken at several conferences and have been interviewed by Reuters and on BBC World News by Zainab Badawi, as well as appearing on Voice of America.

My work has featured in publications such as The Middle East in London, The Youth Times and This Week in Palestine, and has been published by Indiana University Press.

My portfolio of published work includes articles on Autism Spectrum Condition, Palestinian music and culture, music under occupation, Palestinian Hip-hop, music of the Palestinian Diaspora and the Arab Spring.

I have also previously worked as a secondary school teacher for over a decade in several inner-London comprehensive schools, after gaining a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Roehampton University in 2008.

Been using Randa for years for proofing and editing, and will do for years to come.

Randa edited a eulogy for me. I asked that it was warm, interesting and funny.

She made sure my words still felt like my own and was kind and supportive through the process.

She ensured the perspective was correct since I wasn’t the one reading it and formatted it in a way that would make it easier for the celebrant to read aloud.

I’m so grateful. Really gave me peace of mind at a difficult time.
