Based in the UK I am a native English speaker who specialises in proofreading student essays and theses. I have an honours degree in the social sciences (gained with the Open University in the UK as a mature student) and my main area of expertise relates to this subject, in particular, social policy, social problems and crime.
I work within the ethical constraints necessary for proofreading work prior to examination; subject to the approval of the student’s university/college supervisor. The work of the student is paramount and must remain the work of the student, I am therefore restricted to checking spellings, typographical errors and obvious grammar issues and generally tidying up.
Apart from student work I also work closely with self-publishing authors on their novels both as a proofreader and copyeditor.
I am a remote working freelance proofreader who has been proofreading and copy-editing since 2017. Using transferable skills gained while working remotely for many years as a bookkeeper, I have the ability to approach all editorial tasks in an organised and methodical manner.
