I am a qualified proofreader, and I received a distinction (98%) in the proofreading and editing course I completed with the College of Media and Publishing. I am also an entry-level member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, and I adhere to their professional standards.

It can be very difficult to spot errors or inconsistencies in your own work. For this reason, it is advisable to have another pair of eyes check over your work for any errors in spelling, punctuation or grammar, so you can present your work feeling confident it is at its best and free of errors.

As well as removing any errors, I assess the document for consistency. For example, if “for example” is used in one part of the document and “eg” is used in another part, it can be changed to one or the other, as preferred, for consistency.

I also check for correct word usage to ensure the correct tricky words such as affect/effect, assent/ascent, or licence/license have been used.

I will make sure the document is well-presented with your chosen font, font size, and formatting, and that this is maintained consistently throughout the document.
