student proofreading – this is the generic type of service a student may type in to google to find a match, visit the page to find out more.

academic proofreading – academic editing focuses on theses, dissertations, assignments and reports. This is surprisingly specialist work, requiring both academic experience and also a knowledge of language and grammar.

novel proofreading – novels are mainly fiction books which need to be proofread and edit, this is when the imagination takes flight. I personally have always enjoyed proofreading these, although the editing does tend to be quite “big picture” and looking at the layout and character development.

book proofreading – in contrast to novel proofreading, these are mainly non-fiction books like textbooks, guides, memoirs and how to or instruction manuals.
