About hardyjp

I am a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), with whom I trained as a copy-editor and proofreader. I provide a professional and affordable service, and have experience in a range of subjects from academic text books to horror fiction.

I have developed my skills through the SfEP in-house training courses in both proofreading (1: Introduction and 2: Progress) and copy-editing (1: Introduction and 2: Progress). I have also taken advantage of the SfEP’s six-month mentoring scheme in proofreading.

Prior to starting my freelance editing business in 2015, I worked in IT for 22 years, employed first by Lloyd’s of London and then British Airways. I have an MSc in Information Technology from Teesside University and a BA (Hons) in Law and Music from the University of Keele. Before my IT career, I spent three years in the legal profession as a Legal Executive for a firm of solicitors in Newcastle. My diverse background means that I am happy to work within a broad array of subjects. My particular specialisms, however, are Information Technology, Music, Law, Art, and Sports.
