Example 1

Acknowledging the incredible support I have received during my journey at X University is both a privilege and a heartfelt necessity. The university’s program, meticulously designed for working professionals, has been tremendous and transformative. Its culture fosters agility among faculty and staff, allowing them to adeptly meet the ever-changing demands of our (students’) daily lives. Throughout my time at X, I have been continually impressed by the dedication and expertise of the faculty and support staff. Their unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where learning thrives has left an indelible mark on both my academic excellence and personal growth. Pairing me with Dr.Y as my mentor was a perfect match for someone as complex and demanding as myself. His guidance has been invaluable in navigating this challenging path, providing clarity and direction when it was most needed. Equally surprising was Dr. T, who appeared like an unexpected coach from nowhere. Her guidance extended far beyond curriculum boundaries, offering tutelage and what felt like therapy at times.

Example 2 

Dr Y for advice and guidance. The archivists at the Archives at the H for their patience with me while requesting a list of primary source maps that were promptly returned as not appropriate, and at the X and Y Archives for their permission to use their archived photographs. Q my partner for support and especially brilliant proofreading that came with constructive feedback. My father for his continuing support through what has been a very difficult period in his life, and my late much-loved mother, a kindred spirit, whose legacy funded this work.
