Depending on what you want or need, this could involve writing something from scratch, including desk research, interviews and developing an easy to navigate structure for your content. Or it may mean pulling together draft text from various sources, rewriting and editing it so the style and tone are consistent, and results in a clear, meaningful narrative. Or perhaps you need a fresh pair of eyes to check (and double check) your content is as good as it can possibly be.

I’m a Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading professional member with over 35 years’ experience, initially as a qualified journalist and sub-editor then in PR and internal and corporate communications. Since setting up my own editorial services business in 2001 I’ve provided support to government departments and agencies, local authorities, NHS trusts, charities, regulators, professional bodies and many others. I’ve shown I am reliable, quick to grasp complex subjects (including the wider context and any sensitive issues), and not afraid of asking difficult questions or challenging assumptions to ensure the client brief is met in full.

I particularly enjoy getting to grips with what may seem to some people ‘dry’ documents like annual reports and lengthy policies, business plans and strategies, research and evaluation papers, consultations and professional guidance.
