About Adam McIlroy Proofreading and Editing

Hi there,

My name is Adam, and I am an enthusiastic writer and editor living in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am starting out as a freelance proofreader, offering editing and proofreading services for all kinds of text. I have worked for over two years in marketing, writing and editing copy from blogposts to newsletters, articles to interviews, and webpages and email campaigns.

Knowing how to write good copy gives me a great insight into how to write elegantly and in a grammatically correct manner; in me, if you wish, you will get a qualified proofreader as well as a seasoned editor. During my marketing years I proofread and edited content written by non-native English speakers on an almost daily basis, so I have an eagle-eye for detail. I also have a diploma in proofreading from the College of Media and Publishing. I offer academic proofreading services; I have just completed a master’s in Classics with Distinction, and I have been added to the Deans’ List for Academic Excellence, too, so I am highly familiar with academic text.
