About DiB

UK-based and freelance after previously working as a proofreader for many years at an advertising and digital media company. Known for attention to detail, accuracy, excellent knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation and wide general knowledge (which often helps to prevent factual errors from being published). Experienced at editing non-native as well as native English, on-screen proofreading (using MS Word and Track Changes or PDF mark-up) and has been trained in proofreading fiction as well as non-fiction and dissertations.

Worked in travel and tourism after graduating and still has a strong interest in UK travel and tourism as well as Europe.

Areas of expertise include proofreading for magazines, reports for various types of organisations, tourist brochures, sales copy and academic writing (dissertations, essays and journal articles).

Background in languages (degree in Modern Languages, French and Russian with Political and Economic Studies), so would love to help with translation as well as getting involved in any proofreading or copy-editing projects.

Successfully completed several courses organised by both the Publishing Training Centre and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (Merits for Proofreading and Copy-editing), so equipped with the knowledge to help improve your writing or ensure your document is error-free.
