About Sam_Kelly

Words have long been my life; apart from a lifelong obsession with reading, I have been a professional freelance writer since 2007, mostly covering Argentine and South American football. Having written for a variety of publications across three continents in this time, I am familiar with the challenges of different registers, audiences and style guides.

In February 2018, I completed the Proofreading Training Centre’s flagship Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning course, earning a Distinction. In January 2019, I complete the Society for Editors and Proofreaders’ course Proofreading Theses and Dissertations, focussing on the techniques, ethical issues and other unique considerations of academic proofreading.

Projects I have worked on include a light proofread of a translation of a 58,000-word biography of Formula One star Gilles Villeneuve, and a proofread of ‘Bluebird Heaven’, a book about Cardiff City Football Club, for Pitch Publishing.
