About FJYProofreading

My name is Felicity Yau and I offer professional, flexible and comprehensive proofreading and editing services to businesses large and small, postgraduate students and academics, individuals and publishers. I edit everything from websites and ebooks to dissertations, theses and CV’s. I proofread (amendments to grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary and basic document format) and I also copy-edit (amendments to sentence and paragraph structure). My purpose is to ensure there is fluency, continuity and meaning throughout the text. I apply my professional experiences to a client’s written work, helping them communicate clearly, precisely and directly with their own clients.

I have an accredited Diploma in Proofreading and Copy-Editing Level 4 with the College of Media and Publishing (CMP) and a Certificate in Proofreading Theses and Dissertations with the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CIEP) of which I am an entry level member.

I have a background in academic studies, and so am particularly interested in offering services to the academic sector: undergraduates, post-graduates, PhD students and, professional academics.

However, I am also very interested in proofreading and copy-editing websites; I have now worked on websites for two of my clients and thoroughly enjoyed it.

My main subject interests include history, philosophy, politics, literature, linguistics, and modern languages. I have a BA(Hons) French Studies and speak French to a high level.

I am happy to meet up with clients but am also able to work remotely using Microsoft Track Changes or Adobe Acrobat Reader.
