About Sarah Freshwater

I am a freelance professional proofreader providing a reliable and friendly service to publishers, public and private companies, small businesses, charities, and individuals.

I enjoy proofreading fiction and non-fiction, and work regularly on academic texts relating to the fields of social sciences and humanities. I also specialise in financial services, having previously been in banking for over 25 years.

The following subjects are also of particular interest to me: history, military history, cricket, heritage, rural affairs, walking and outdoor pursuits, travel, crafts, and cookery.

As a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, I am bound by their code of practice ensuring editorial excellence. I have been trained by both SfEP and The Publishing Training Centre.

I can mark up documents created in Word using the track changes function or those in a PDF format using the annotations/comments tool. For publishing clients, I am proficient in the use of BSI proofreading symbols and can mark up hard copies by hand or import the equivalent symbols into PDFs.
